I am a professional counsellor and psychotherapist who is an accredited member of the National Counselling Society. I am also a doctor of health psychology.

 

After completing a BA (Hons) is Psychology and Criminology I went on to work in forensic psychology and substance misuse treatment in various prisons providing both individual and group support whilst developing therapeutic interventions. I continued this role for 10 years alongside volunteering for the probation service. It was during my time whilst working for the prison service that I decided to further my passion for helping individuals through changes, by completing a diploma in hypnotherapy and counselling. I then went on to complete an advanced diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have since gone on to complete an MSc in Health Psychology.

 

During my various roles and studies I have developed a specialism in the addiction field and have been working in this area for over 10 years. As part of my MSc in Health Psychology I completed my thesis on the psychological predictors surrounding painkiller usage.

 

At present alongside my role as a counsellor and psychotherapist I also volunteer at a children’s bereavement support service and I am studying towards a Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology.
